Twitter Reaches 20 Billion Tweets

Twitter has now posted a total Tweet reach 20 billion. Who would have thought, Tweet to-20 billion were sent by users from Japan. Twitter messages that reach 20 billion did not make much sense, but Twitter recognizes this and proves that the growth was large enough microblogging service.

Tweet to-20 billion is coming from Japanese users with GGGGGGo_Lets_Go account that was posted on Sunday at 11 am local time.

Added by Twitter, as reported by the Telegraph, Monday (02/07/2010), Twitter users in Japan send Tweet approximately 8 million per day, or contributed approximately 12 percent of the total Tweet worldwide. This figure also represents the second largest amount after the U.S.

“I am grateful and honored by this achievement. Many Twitter users visit my account because the Tweet reaches 20 billion. But be careful just because I will be twitting more often about baseball,” said owner of GGGGGGo_Lets_Go account.

Twitter previously took four years to reach 10 million Tweets this year in March. To achieve the double-digit, Twitter only takes less than five months. This proves how the rapid population of the world’s Twitter. One reason why Twitter is very popular in Japan is because it is possible to say more in Japanese that exceeds 140 characters. For example, the word ‘magazines’ only requires two letters in Japanese.
